Business Coaching is one of the most powerful ways for an individual or a team to maximise their performance. We have a number of highly experienced and qualified coaches to assist you with this process. Each of our coaches work to their professional body’s strict code of ethics, either the International Coaching Federation or the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.

To ensure that you get the maximum benefit from our coaching we hold an initial meeting to give you the opportunity to resolve any questions you have about coaching. We will discuss your goals and aspirations, as our coaching is driven by the needs of the client. This meeting also ensures that the relationship between coach and client works too, as this is vital to success. Do not feel embarrassed or awkward if you want to meet two or three coaches – we actually encourage this, as the relationship match is crucial!

Subsequent meetings will give you the opportunity to address your professional and personal development, through a powerful dialogue. Although we normally contract for six sessions over a six to nine month period, the actual duration of the relationship will be driven by you, the client.

Business Coaching provides sustainable improvement in performance by focusing on your strengths and how to use them to best effect in order to achieve your goals. Along the journey we may explore how certain thoughts and behaviours can be unhelpful and the coaching process allows you to gain a greater appreciation of the strengths in others – strengths that you may currently perceive as weaknesses.

Team Business Coaching uses a similar process to achieve sustained performance by seeking to use the strengths of each individual team member whilst valuing their differences.

Key to the success of an organisation is the development and growth of its staff. Organisational performance is dependent upon every member of staff and every team working to their best.

When working with individuals and teams our philosophy is to develop your competence and capability by working on your strengths. Why focus on your strengths? All the time we spend at school and then at work people have a tendency to point out what you’re not good at – your ‘development areas’ – and those things can become the focus of your attention. By focusing on your strengths you can achieve more for the same effort.

Good leaders have real self-awareness and appreciate how they can best use the diversity of others within the organisation to maximum effect. This appreciation of diversity also helps teams to perform better and we have found that once people have an appreciation of their own working styles and the working styles of others they become more understanding and tolerant of the differences. The final step is for them to recognise how to use the strengths of the team members to produce a rounded performance, for the benefit of the organisation.

We have designed and delivered:

Self awareness programmes

Understanding team dynamics and how to create a high performing team

Team roles and leading a team

We don’t show programmes on this site, as they will be designed to meet your specific needs, although we can show you examples on request. What you won’t find is a separate leadership development programme. We believe that leadership exists in every individual and is an integral part of all we do. It is not a standalone subject.

Strategy is about the performance of your organisation. It is about the performance of your people. It provides meaning to what they do and enables them to understand how their role supports the organisational purpose. That is why performance and strategy cannot be dealt with separately.

We assist our clients in producing strategies that are creative, challenging and achievable. These need to be communicated to your staff in a way that they can understand how their role and contribution assists to achieve the strategic aim. We know that engaged employees perform better and people have an inherent need for purpose. If they know that their role adds value then this gives them purpose – and they perform better.

Many organisations want their staff to give 110% (oh how we hate that expression!) and we want them ‘to go the extra mile’ (another hated expression). In reality, what your organisation’s performance would increase if your employees turn up focused on effectively performing the role you employ them for. We believe that the majority people want to do that and we’ll work with you to make that happen.

Your strategy needs to be implemented and this should lead to how you measure performance in your organisation. Performance is a complex subject as it involves finance, resources and people – both inside and outside the organisation. Unfortunately, we have found that the word ‘performance’ is attracting a negative press, which is why we now talk about ‘ethical performance’ – the only way to achieve sustainable performance.

Different individuals / teams /organisations have a preference for how they develop strategy. We will work with you to identify those preferences and develop creative and innovative strategies that your people will understand and implement.

Our approach to partnership working is based on ensuring collaborative gain through ethical performance. Whilst developing or maintaining performance in a stand alone organisation is difficult enough, in a partnership context the complexity, ambiguity and uncertainty created by clashes of organisational culture make success even more difficult.

Collaborative Gain through bringing together the diverse aims and objectives of the public, private and third sectors is still in the formative stages. The true benefits of engaged partnership working have yet to be realised and, in many cases, engagement in partnership working is a secondary task to the day job.

We can help :

ESTABLISH partnerships from the initial formation stage through to effective performance by assisting in identifying, recruiting and developing appropriate stakeholders.

EXISTING partnerships through the development and implementation of a clear set of Corporate Governance guidelines, coupled with value added individual and team development.

EVALUATING partnership performance, giving consideration of not only outputs and outcomes but also the behavioural aspects to ensure that appropriate levels of Risk Management are in place to protect the brand image of all partner organisations.

At the centre of our approach to establishing, developing and evaluating partnerships is the Partnership Wheel Model:
