Strategy

Strategy is about the performance of your organisation. It is about the performance of your people. It provides meaning to what they do and enables them to understand how their role supports the organisational purpose. That is why performance and strategy cannot be dealt with separately.

We assist our clients in producing strategies that are creative, challenging and achievable. These need to be communicated to your staff in a way that they can understand how their role and contribution assists to achieve the strategic aim. We know that engaged employees perform better and people have an inherent need for purpose. If they know that their role adds value then this gives them purpose – and they perform better.

Many organisations want their staff to give 110% (oh how we hate that expression!) and we want them ‘to go the extra mile’ (another hated expression). In reality, what your organisation’s performance would increase if your employees turn up focused on effectively performing the role you employ them for. We believe that the majority people want to do that and we’ll work with you to make that happen.

Your strategy needs to be implemented and this should lead to how you measure performance in your organisation. Performance is a complex subject as it involves finance, resources and people – both inside and outside the organisation. Unfortunately, we have found that the word ‘performance’ is attracting a negative press, which is why we now talk about ‘ethical performance’ – the only way to achieve sustainable performance.

Different individuals / teams /organisations have a preference for how they develop strategy. We will work with you to identify those preferences and develop creative and innovative strategies that your people will understand and implement.
